MEDIA

Welcome to John Strasberg Studios Media Center. If you have a moment, and want to look at a preview of the flim/documentary John Strasberg Accidentally On Purpose see the video below. The film was made in 1998 by Cheryl Grant, an actress/director/writer who worked with me for years. It was her idea, and I am honored that she felt the way she did. The film has won several awards in various Film Festivals, including Best Education Documentary in the Los Angeles International Independent Film and Video Festival, and been a finalist in the Santa Monica Film Festival. It was shot in several days, using students from my classes in New York, and in my apartment with the help of our cat, Bambou, and the participation of my late sister, Susan Strasberg, and Steve Buscemi. It runs 60 minutes. It is one of the few things I've seen about myself that I really like, and which I believe represents me and my work. It is available from our online Store, Video and CD for $24.99, plus tax and shipping.

Read the book, Accidentally On Purpose: Reflections on Life, Acting, and the Nine Natural Laws of Creativity, was published in 1996 by Glenn Young's Applause Books in New York, and by A&C Black in London. It is available in hardcover for $22.00 and in paperback for $15.95, plus tax and shipping. If you buy it from our online store and wish me to dedicate it, please let me know by stating your request for dedication in the Special Request box on the checkout page in our Store.

I will be publishing more books. Look here for information.

I'd like to thank Marlon Pollick, my web designer and webmaster, for also creating the website, which I believe is beautiful, and represents me, and my work, also.

Please note that the online preview has been compressed for quicker downloads. Purchased DVDs and VHSs have higher video and sound quality.
